The One Outfit That Always Works for Me Right Now

Lately, my biggest fashion challenge has been finding something—anything—that fits my ever-growing baby bump. When I say, “this is the only thing that fits me right now,” I truly mean it! I’ve been holding off on buying maternity clothes for as long as possible, determined to make my existing wardrobe work. That means I’ve been rummaging through my closet, trying to find pieces that still fit comfortably.

The Slip Dress: My Ultimate Go-To

Slip dresses have always been a staple in my wardrobe, and it’s no surprise they’ve become my number-one pregnancy essential. Loose, airy, and effortlessly stylish, they’re the perfect solution for staying comfortable as the temperatures rise here in Los Angeles. The way they drape over my growing belly makes them both flattering and practical.

Most of my slip dresses are a size small, but since they have a slightly oversized fit, they’ve been working perfectly—for now. That said, I can already feel the fabric stretching a bit more than usual, so I know my days of squeezing into them might be numbered!

Elevating the Look with Accessories

Since slip dresses tend to have a minimalist vibe (even when they feature a gorgeous print like this one), I love using accessories to elevate the look. A structured blazer, a statement bag, chic shoes, and sleek sunglasses instantly take a simple slip dress from casual to polished.

Here’s what I’ve been pairing with my go-to slip dresses:

  • A Statement Bag: My Saint Laurent leather tote is the perfect blend of elegance and practicality.
  • Bold Shades: I’ve been obsessed with my Le Specs x Adam Selman “Lolita” sunglasses—they add just the right amount of attitude.
  • Sleek Footwear: My Balenciaga Knife Boots bring a little edge to the look, making me feel put-together even on my most exhausted days.
  • A Tailored Blazer: Throwing on a blazer, like my Essential Blazer from BCBGeneration, instantly refines the outfit.

The Verdict? Dresses for the Win

While I’ll probably cave soon and buy some maternity clothes, for now, I’m loving the simplicity and ease of my slip dresses. They make me feel stylish without sacrificing comfort—something that’s becoming increasingly important with each passing day.

For all my fellow moms-to-be, what were your go-to outfits during pregnancy? Let me know—I could definitely use some more ideas!
